The Opportunity
Our client is a newly launched charity with an ambitious mission: to make evidence-based mind-body approaches accessible within mainstream UK healthcare. They are already developing partnerships with NHS Trusts, researchers and health charities, with pilot programmes planned later this year.
This is a rare opportunity to join the founding team and build an entire research, data and AI function from the ground up.
the role
Working directly with the Founder, you will shape the evidence base that could influence future NHS approaches to prevention, self-management and recovery. The role combines scientific rigour with innovation and real-world impact, with responsibility for everything from study design and governance through to an AI-enabled evidence platform capable of generating real-world evidence at scale.
Please note: funding is expected around October 2026, at which point this becomes a paid part-time role. Until then, the role requires approximately 1–2 hours per week in an advisory capacity, with all time recorded and paid retrospectively once funding is secured.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Funding Phase (1–2 hours per week)
- Advise on research strategy, study design and methodology
- Help shape participant surveys and outcome measures
- Develop the charity’s long-term research and data roadmap
- Advise on governance, ethics, GDPR and information governance
- Help design an AI-enabled research platform supporting advanced analytics, automation and future NHS and biomarker data integration
- Provide research expertise for discussions with NHS partners and funders
Once Funded (approximately 3 days per week)
- Lead the charity’s research and data function
- Design and oversee research studies and programme evaluations
- Manage participant and outcomes data
- Build partnerships with NHS organisations, universities and research institutions
- Produce reports, publications and impact evidence
- Harness AI, automation and advanced analytics to generate deeper insights, streamline research workflows and build scalable evidence generation
- Help establish a leading evidence base for mind-body healthcare in the UK
About You
You are excited by the opportunity to build something that doesn’t yet exist. You bring curiosity, scientific integrity and an open mind, and you are energised by the prospect of generating robust evidence with real-world healthcare impact. Your background might include healthcare research, epidemiology, public health, psychology, biomedical science, health informatics, data science or a related discipline. No prior knowledge of EFT is required.
