About the opportunity
Our client empowers the world’s leading researchers with an ecosystem of software products that make their lives easier, so they can focus on delivering the ground-breaking research of tomorrow.
With customers in 14 countries and over 2 million research projects supported, they’re entering a new phase of global growth. Their platforms are trusted by research-intensive universities, healthcare institutions, and regulatory bodies to manage complex processes with confidence.
As they expand into this next phase of strategic growth, they’re looking for commercially-minded individuals who thrive on building relationships, opening new doors, and helping organisations unlock the value of well-designed research management systems.
About The role
As our client enters its next phase of growth, the business requires stronger operational discipline, clearer execution, and more consistent internal and external communication.
The Head of Finance & Operations is responsible for ensuring the company runs in a structured, predictable, and effective way. Acting as the bridge between strategy and execution, this role translates priorities into action, provides financial and operational oversight, and ensures the leadership team operates with clarity and accountability.
This is a senior, commercially-minded operations role — not administrative. The role exists to remove operational and analytical load from the CEO, strengthen decision-making, and improve internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee finance operations and financial reporting requirements.
- Deliver sales, performance, and business analytics (regular and ad hoc) for internal and external stakeholders, including investors.
- Oversee HR, people & culture operations, including internal communications.
- Manage the working environment, including office locations in all regions.
- Lead Leadership Team cadence (weekly meetings, quarterly and annual planning).
- Manage internal projects and strategic initiatives.
- Champion strong process management and operational discipline, driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
About you
You are commercially minded and outcome-focused. Calm, pragmatic, and solution-oriented, you are trusted for your judgment and have low ego.
You are comfortable providing constructive challenge and enjoy operating both at executive level and in the detail on the ground. You are motivated by improving organisational efficiency, not building bureaucracy.
