About the opportunity
Our client is seeking a Data Analytics Director to lead enterprise-scale data transformation programmes across the USA, UK and EMEA. This is a senior leadership position with full P&L ownership, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex SAP data and cloud analytics engagements.
The role combines commercial accountability, executive client engagement, and deep technology oversight, ensuring predictable delivery, strong financial performance, and long-term value realisation for enterprise customers.
This is a full-time position offering strategic influence, international scope, and significant leadership responsibility.
About The role
The Data Analytics Director – Data Platforms & Analytics is responsible for the successful delivery and commercial performance of a portfolio of large-scale data transformation programmes.
Acting as a strategic partner to clients, the Director provides executive oversight across SAP BW modernisation, SAP Datasphere and Business Data Cloud initiatives, and cloud data platform migrations. The role bridges commercial strategy, programme execution, architecture leadership, and stakeholder engagement at C-suite level.
Key Responsibilities
P&L Ownership & Commercial Leadership
- Own full P&L accountability for the data delivery portfolio, including revenue growth, margin optimisation, cost control, and utilisation.
- Partner with sales and account leadership on commercial proposals, pricing strategy, and transformation roadmaps.
- Identify and drive account expansion opportunities across SAP analytics and cloud data platforms.
- Ensure strong delivery governance, risk management, and financial discipline.
Programme & Delivery Leadership
- Provide executive oversight for large-scale data transformation programmes, including SAP BW modernisation and cloud-native platform builds.
- Lead mobilisation, governance frameworks, executive reporting, and quality assurance.
- Manage global, multi-vendor and multi-shore delivery teams.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across engagements.
Technology & Architecture Leadership
- Act as senior authority on SAP data and analytics architectures, including SAP BW, BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Provide strategic direction for cloud data platform modernisation across AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Guide architectural decisions related to extraction strategies, data modelling, governance, security, and performance optimisation.
- Drive adoption of automation, accelerators, and modern engineering practices.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CDOs, enterprise architects, and senior business leaders.
- Lead executive steering committees and strategic roadmap discussions.
- Act as escalation point for complex commercial, technical, and delivery matters.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership value.
Team & Practice Leadership
- Lead and scale high-performing, multi-disciplinary delivery teams.
- Mentor senior architects, delivery managers, and technical leads.
- Contribute to practice strategy, service offerings, and capability development.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the portfolio.
About you
You are a commercially astute data leader with significant experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation programmes. You combine deep technical understanding of SAP and cloud data platforms with strong financial discipline and executive-level stakeholder management.
You are comfortable operating at C-suite level, leading global delivery teams, and taking full accountability for commercial performance. You bring strategic thinking, operational rigour, and the credibility to influence both technical and business audiences.
experience & qualifications
- 15+ years’ experience in enterprise data platforms, analytics delivery, and transformation leadership.
- Proven P&L ownership and portfolio delivery management experience.
- Deep expertise in SAP data and analytics platforms, including BW, BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, and Business Data Cloud.
- Strong experience delivering cloud data platform modernisation and migration programmes.
- Hands-on exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience shaping and delivering complex transformation engagements.
